Introducing CSE's Upgraded CA Safeguard Homeowners Insurance Product!

Effective May 15th, 2016 the Safeguard Homeowners Product has been repositioned to serve the preferred market. The overall rate change for this revision will be -2.0%, and 66% of policy holders will see a premium change of less than $200. Outlined below are the enhancements and flexibility features that make CSE's Homeowners product a superior solution for today's homeowner.

New features and enhancements:

  • Broadened Discounts:

    • LOYALTY - Existing CSE policyholders save up to 5%
    • ALARMS - Save up to 21% for burglar, fire, and water detection devices
    • MULTI-POLICY - Save up to 24% when insuring Auto, Landlord, Earthquake or Umbrella
    • 56+ - Save 5% if 56 years of age or older
    • CSE AGENTS - Save 5% as a CSE Agent
  • New enhanced coverage features:

    • Ordinance or law - expanded to 10% of Coverage A on a base policy and 20% of Coverage A with the Plus endorsement
    • Sewers and drains - the Plus endorsement now includes $7,500 for loss to property caused by back up of sewers and drains
    • Policy sub-limits - both the base policy and the Plus endorsement sub-limits have been enhanced to provide broader coverage for CSE policyholders
    • Loss assessment coverage up to $2,500 for covered assessments from an HOA
    • Extended replacement cost (ERC) - the Plus endorsement now includes 175% extended replacement cost
    • Removed the exclusion for damage from rain, snow, sand or dust
    • Numerous sublimits increased, including those for bicycles, trailers, firearms, business personal property on premise

New optional enhancements:

  • Higher policy level deductible options up to $10,000
  • Water damage deductibles of $5,000, $7,500 and $10,000
  • Expanded scheduled personal property categories to now include bicycles and firearms
  • Functional replacement cost coverage for older homes
  • Ordinance or law - increased limits coverage
  • Service line coverage up to $10,000
  • Loss assessment coverage - higher limits now available

Renewal endorsement functionality - Starting 3/25/16, agents will have the ability to endorse upcoming renewal policies via the SPInn system. To make changes effective upon renewal, simply select "Renewal" in the transaction type. You will have a window of 51-65 days from the renewal effective date. This will allow you to take advantage of new coverage options, and manage premiums.
